The joined venture with Cinéart: distribution of films DVDs.
In October 2004, film distributor Cinéart and music distributor [PIAS] joined forces to create TWIN PICS, a joint venture specialized in the distribution of DVD’s.TWIN PICS is based in Brussels and leans on the distribution network and the logistic infrastructure provided by [PIAS] to put the DVD's of films acquired by Cinéart in the market. The company also distributes the catalogues of such companies as MK2, Doriane Films, La Fabrique de Films, Institut Lumière, RTBF Editions (the latter including companies such as France Télévision Distribution, LCJ Editions, Blaq out, Editions Montparnasse).
In only four years, TWIN PICS has already sold more than 1.2 million DVD’s in the French-speaking part of Belgium, a market of about four million residents. Its catalog counts for more than 2000 references, covering all kinds of films (arthouse, classics, commercial movies, DVD box-sets, family movies, documentaries, animation).
Since 2008 Cineart and Pias have launched Twin Pics Holland . Cinéart acquires now rights for the whole Benelux.
CINEART was created in 1975 as the NPO - Cinélibre, in order to provide an alternative for the distribution of art house films that didn't find their way to the big screen.After 33 years of activity, Eliane Du Bois's company became the most prominent independent film distributor in Belgium.CINEART acquired most of the recent Golden Palm and Golden Lion winners and box-office successes such as The Lord of the Rings, Million Dollar Baby, Der Untergang, BrokebackMountain, The Constant Gardener, Match Point, Merry Christmas,… (www.cineart.be ).
